Can I use my natural fiber rug outside?
We do not recommend natural fiber rugs for outdoor use. Water and the elements can damage your natural fiber rug. Sisal and Jute are very strong plant fibers and will provide many years of indoor service. Because our sisal and jute rugs are plant fibers, exposure to water will naturally begin the decomposition process.
Why doesn’t my rug match my sample?
Because our floor coverings are woven from natural fibers, they have normal irregularities that are considered part of their charm. Variations in weave and shading create distinctive, interesting character that make natural fiber floor coverings unique. All natural fibers may change shades over time. Bleached products darken and colored fibers fade.
Can I steam clean my rug?
No. Steam cleaning, or any other overall cleaning method that saturates your rug with water, will stress the natural fibers in your floor covering. Water or other liquid spills should be blotted immediately with a clean white cloth. Never clean your sisal or jute rug with water. We recommend HOST dry carpet cleaner for our plant based products. Wool can be professionally cleaned but never use a steam cleaning system as wool will shrink. Wool is naturally stain resistant. Spot cleaning is easy with a solution of clear water and vinegar. Tougher stains may be removed with baking soda and water. Hydrogen peroxide may also be used on wool stains. Always blot with a clean white cloth, never rub. Steam cleaning, or any other overall cleaning method that saturates your rug with water, will stress the natural fibers in your floor covering.
Do you offer stain or fiber protectors for your rugs?
No. But, we are in the process of developing an organic treatment we can offer which is true to our brand.
